About the project:

· genealogical data base for all the families named Blocher and Plocher to share data for research in ancestry and family
· own research in the records of local archives in Holzhausen and Dornhan; to decipher and to list up the entries of the church records of Holzhausen near Sulz am Neckar.

You can get information about your ancestry Blocher and Plocher as well as for your own family research from my data base. Included is a special research for emigrants / immigrants. Linking up the results of a lot of researches and systematic evaluation of a number of sources makes it possible to trace ancestors and give special information about:
·        emigrants, their origin and further live
·        persons who changed place of residence
·        distinguish your ancestor from others with similar name or data of life
·        completion of your information about Blocher / Plocher descendents

The data base contains about 7,000 people with the surname Blocher / Plocher that have lived since 1446. It is based on the sources of the following countries (in order of % of contribution):
70 % Germany          - mostly from Wuerttemberg and Hohenzollern
20 % U.S.A.              - mostly from Pennsylvania, Maryland, Ohio, Indiana and Minnesota
2 % Switzerland        - cantons of German tongue
2 % Austria
2 % Germans from south east Euope - Romania, Hungary, Yugoslavia
1 % France                - mostly from Alsace and Lorraine
3 % from other countries   - Canada, Argentina, Sweden, Belgium, Poland, Russia

Further researches in the source files will increase the data base. Additionally, I would like to ask you to share your information about the families Blocher and Plocher - everything about ancestors as well as descendants. Your information will be checked with the help of the data base. You will receive completion as far as possible. New information is welcome to complete the data file.

How data is processed and made available?
Registration of data is done by a German genealogical program called GFF Ahnen. It includes all data of all genealogical sources checked till now. The program creates ancestry files, descendant files and files for just one family. You can choose your data file in genealogical standard GEDCOM or as a text file or even printed in a genealogical list if you do not use a genealogical program.
